Elivision

SEOUL (S. KOREA)---Elivision, (www.elivision.com) established in 2004, was an ordinary small enterprise that specialized in producing small digital photo frames. However, it started to be recognized for its successful development of DID in 2007. Now Elivision has become a leading DID company, spreading its name all over the world.

In the early stage of DID development, sales figure increased slowly compared to the intense R&D budget spending on this technology.  However, Elivision persistently strengthened its technology and capacity, becoming one of few DID providers who offers a complete package including product planning, design, engineering, manufacturing, sales, installing and after service.  In this way, Elivision was able to secure price and technologic competitiveness.

Elivision has a distinctive advantage in outdoor products and multi-vision. While other competitors focused on developing indoor products, Elivision took the hard way and invested in outdoor. Now their product is equipped with smart temperature adjustment, water, vibration and shock resistance and it is highly readable under any circumstances. The Elivision DID can be installed anywhere, in spite of rain, wind, dust, heat or cold weather. Also, Elivision has developed multi-vision, which consists of a mega-size screen for both indoor and outdoor use.

Every time Elivision releases a new product, we can enjoy more quality entertainment.

With its consistent marketing, Elivision now provides its products to not only the Korean market, used in places such as Gimpo airport, the Seoul Museum of History, Samsung electronics Hwasung factory, Incheon City Festival, Seoul National University, Ewha Woman’s University, and the Main road at Yeosu Expo, but they have also penetrated overseas markets including the Prague international airport, Prague zoo, the Korean Cultural center in Kazakhstan, Shopping district in Shinjuku Japan, Harrah’s Hotel in Las Vegas. Elivision has participated in numerous major exhibitions including CeBIT in Germany, CES in Las Vegas, Gitex in Dubai, and Ceatec in Tokyo, so now the company receives incoming calls from customers in USA, Japan, Germany, Italy and the Czech Republic.

Now Elivision is striving to serve the socially disadvantaged with their technology, having recently acquired a patent on a kiosk, which automatically adjusts its height according to the height of a child, or a person in a wheelchair.

With its technological success assured, Elivision is now looking to offer products evoking Korea’s cultural sentiment, and in focusing on developing a product with artistic value. For that, Elivision is collaborating with industrial designers. Its next product will be a pleasant gift to our eyes.

What is Digital Information Display (DID)
Two DID display devices.

There is a great amount of information around us these days. Mediums such as sign boards, bulletin boards, posters, banners and prints are the means to deliver such information and numerous concepts are used to attract people’s attention, even blowing wind into a human-shaped doll.

A long time ago, skilled experts with experience made all of these kinds of mediums by hand. But with the advent of the printer and typography changed everything. Machines replaced all the work that humans used to do. It was the first revolution in the advertisement industry.

However, there was still a limitation that printed advertisement needed to be placed somewhere. Moreover, if there was any error or change in context, everything had to be done from scratch. This was time-consuming work that required patience, labor and money. Also, it was consuming in a sense that printed advertisement takes up a lot of space, just imagine how big a wall should be in order to install twenty posters.

Now, the advertisement industry is witness to the second revolution. All the contents for marketing can be digitalized and delivered to consumers through electronic devices. One information display device can store a lot of advertisements or important information and display it sequentially. This medium is called a Digital Information Display – also known as a DID.  A DID consists of a large LCD panel, media player and control software.

The advantage of a DID is that it can show various types of contents. It can even play movies, special effects, with flash and sound, which was impossible in conventional media.  It can display almost every type of content that is made by computer. Human instinct reacts to animation, therefor DID is much more effective than traditional advertising.

Another advantage is that it is a very effective system. For example, a supermarket is offering a special price event and they just received some new fruits and decided to include them in the special event. In a situation like this, a DID can be adjusted and controlled much better than posters or notice papers.  Moreover, many DID units can be controlled simultaneously in real time because they can be controlled remotely.  The information on a DID can be updated and adjusted via an Internet network, or it can be pre-set by using reservation functions. Also, a single DID can repeatedly display tens of kinds of contents in order. This is a very effective advertising medium with a low cost that uses less labor and time. DID technology is the next poster that we will soon see all around us.
