SEOUL, KOREA — [Preview of CommunicAsia 2012] Digent (www.digent.com / Stand No. BQ4-11) introduces 'Bio USB Flash Memory’ and 'Flex7000', a fingerprint embedded PDA at CommunicAsia 2012 in Singapore.
Bio USB Flash Memory is a portable data storage device that password protects personal information. It is equipped with a fingerprint recognition system that does not require connection to a particular server. As the user is authorized based on fingerprint recognition, the data is protected from leakage even if the user loses the memory. The data also does not leave any information on the PC used for transferring data. This memory device can be used at any computer without installing a driver or operating program.
“This product is especially useful for companies and organizations that used to prohibit portable memory devices due to security concerns,” said Ahn Pilhyeon, CEO of Digent. He added, “Its future applications are endless, for example, as an electronic wallet by linking with a smartphone or credit card.” Digent is planning to apply this technology to a USB-type hardware security model (HSM) based on a smartcard as well.
PDA 'Flex7000' is a compact-sized fingerprint recognition system that enables identity verification as well as entering and sending personal information. It is currently used as a device for ‘E-Citation’ program by the police in Tennessee, US.
Digent is a total fingerprint solution developer with high technology in algorithm, hardware, software, and smartcard. The company has designed and implemented the fingerprint biometrics system called “fingerprinting system for foreign visitors” at airport immigration offices in Korea and the entrance to the Ministry of Justice.
Meanwhile, held for the 23rd time this year, CommunicAsia is the biggest ICT exhibition in Asia where major IT and software firms around the world will showcase cable/wireless/mobile communication devices, parts, and various software products.
