In his letter of felicitations, Prime Minister of India , Dr. Manmohan Singh extended his heartiest congratulations to Madame Park Geun-hye on her ‘historic victory’ in the recent presidential elections in South Korea. He wished her ‘all success in leading your country to a future of sustained security and prosperity’.
Prime Minister noted that India and South Korea had established a Strategic Partnership, based on convergent interests and expanding opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation, which had provided a strong foundation for deepening and broadening bilateral engagement, especially in trade and investment.
Noting that both countries were reaching the important milestone of the 40th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relation in 2013, he called for intensification of efforts to build on the strong strategic framework of engagement, mutual goodwill and growing synergies to further strengthen India-ROK relationship for mutual benefit and for peace, stability and prosperity in the region.
