SEOUL, KOREA - GM Korea will incorporate the newly upgraded smart infortainment system "Chevrolet MyLink" in its Cruze, Aveo, and Trax models starting February. Equipped with a 7-inch touch screen, MyLink provides a variety of multimedia information as well as Bluetooth-linked phone calling and phone number search functionality.
It can also be connected with Internet radio Stitcher, TuneIn and navigator application BringGo, while being capable of linking with the interactive cloud service Siri available only on iPhone 4S or up.
Ankush Arora, GM Korea vice president in charge of sales, marketing, and warranty service, said, "Newly upgraded Chevrolet MyLink has strengthened smartphone linkage features so it can provide truly different services for our car owners. The BringGo navigator app in particular represents our value of customer first."
BringGo, the app that will entirely replace expensive vehicle navigator systems, has been developed jointly by GM and EnGIS Korea. It has adopted the SK Planet maps that are optimized for Korea's mountainous topography.
Any Android- and Apple iOS-based smartphone (further information on compatible devices is to be announced later) user can download the BringGo app and link it with the 7-inch MyLink screen. At less than a tenth of the cost for the embedded navigator, GM car owners can enjoy innovative functionality and services of BringGo.
The smartphone-only BringGo app is free while the BringGo app with a feature to link with MyLink costs only US$49.99 (approximately 50,000 won, based on 2-year use rate).
