SEOUL, KOREA - Ssangyong Motor has released a premium multi-leisure vehicle (MLV) model "Korando Turismo" on February 5. The 11-seater Korando Turismo features the styling of an SUV, the comfort of a sedan, and the multi-function of a multi-purpose vehicle.
To develop the MLV, Ssangyong Motor has invested 180 billion won over the past two years and six months. The brand name is a portmanteau created by combining "Korando," a symbol of Korea's SUV history, with "Turismo," an Italian word meaning tour or travel.
The front design of the Korando Turismo is in line with the Korando family look that features the integrated line of a hood lamp and a radiator grille. Together with a newly designed emblem, Ssangyong Motor's unique three-line radiator grille, in particular, creates a splendid front-side image.
The Korando Turismo is mounted with an e-XDi200 LET (low-end torque) engine best optimized for Korea's topography and road conditions. The engine has a maximum output of 155 ps/4,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 36.7 kg.m/1,500-2,800 rpm. The Korando Turismo comes in two types—manual six-speed transmission and E-Tronic Benz 5-speed automatic transmission.
