SEOUL, KOREA – On Thursday, Korean instant messaging titan Kakao disclosed “Page Editor,” an editing tool geared to the production of Kakao Page (a new monetized content platform optimized for the production and marketing of numerous mobile digital content).
Kakao Page is a mobile content distribution channel that gives users the opportunity to openly sell and market their content in the form of text, image, audio or video. Before the official launch of Kakao Page, slated for March, Kakao first revealed its partner site and editing tool to potential content developers.
The easy-to-use Page Editor allows content developers to create a variety of visual, audio, image contents without much hassle. Created content can also be previewed before it is uploaded, so users can reedit their content while checking whether their content is displayed properly on mobile devices.
Contents created via Page Editor can be uploaded onto the official website of Kakao Page. Users must register to upload their content to Kakao Page and all content will be reviewed by Kakao before it can be sold through the service. Eun-taek Hong, Vice President of Kakao, said, "A plethora of new contents that have never been seen on the existing web will be created exponentially.
