Seoul, Korea - Korean portals have prepared smart work systems and started to provide the smart work services to small-to-mid enterprises with shallow pockets - the only thing SMEs need is their domain and the e-mail, calendar and other utilities are provided by the portals.
Google Apps that allowed companies to use Google’s Gmail, Google Docs and other Google apps had been recently turned into a fee-based service, and Google’s Korean competitors are actively jumping into the smart work system market. The portals need to tie down the users wandering away and respond to the trend of mobile instant messengers and SNS being used as the communication channel at workplaces.
Daum Communication announced on the 19th that its Daum Smart Work went online to allow individuals or companies to use its mail, shared calendar and address books in their own domains.
NHN also introduced Naver Works recently, allowing the companies or individuals to use Naver mail, calendar and address book in their domains for the commercial use.
Nate mail by SK Communications provides 30 GB mailbox for the companies to have ample space for business mails. Recently Nate applied improvements on external mail management and user interface.
포털, 스마트 워크 지원 경쟁
국내 포털이 중소기업을 위한 스마트 워크 지원에 경쟁적으로 나선다. 업무시스템 마련이 부담스러운 중소기업이 자사 도메인만으로 포털 메일이나 캘린더를 업무용으로 쓰게 해 준다. 구글이 최근 기업용으로 메일과 문서 도구 등 구글 서비스를 이용하는 `구글 앱스`를 유료화하면서 국내 기업이 공세적으로 시장에 뛰어든다. 모바일 메신저와 SNS 확대로 메일이 업무 용도로 성격이 바뀌는 추세에 대응, 줄어드는 포털 사용자를 붙잡으려는 시도로 풀이된다.
다음커뮤니케이션은 개인이나 기업이 자체 도메인으로 다음 메일과 공유 캘린더, 주소록을 이용하는 `다음 스마트 워크`를 시작한다고 19일 밝혔다. 유무선 업무 환경 구축이 부담스러운 소규모 기업과 기관, 친목단체나 1인 소호 기업이 대상이다. 300명 이하 조직이 자체 도메인으로 다음 메일을 이용하는 도메인 서비스를 스마트 워크로 확대했다. 이용 가능한 인원 수를 500명으로 늘리고, 메일 용량을 기존 10GB에서 20GB로 2배 키웠다. 앞서 비슷한 서비스를 내놓은 네이버보다 지원 폭이 크다.
무제한 대용량 첨부파일과 25MB 첨부파일 서비스 등 다음 메일 기능을 그대로 제공하며 모바일에서도 똑같이 이용할 수 있다. 최대 50개 캘린더를 구성원과 공유한다. 모바일 메신저 마이피플과 다음 클라우드 연계도 가능하다. 권지영 클라우드기획팀장은 “다음 메일은 업무용 사용자가 많아 캘린더와 주소록을 묶어 효율적으로 관리하도록 스마트 워크를 선보였다”며 “마이피플에 다음 스마트 워크 공유 주소록을 연동해 사내 메신저로 사용하거나 다음 클라우드에 비즈니스 전용 저장 공간을 만드는 등 활용 범위가 다양하다”고 말했다.
이에 앞서 NHN도 최근 300인 이하 기업이나 개인이 자체 도메인으로 네이버 메일·캘린더·주소록을 사내 업무용GB으로 이용하는 `네이버 웍스`를 선보였다. 기존 네이버 메일보다 10GB 많은 15GB 메일 용량을 쓸 수 있으며 캘린더와 주소록도 공유 가능하다.
SK커뮤니케이션즈의 네이트 메일은 30GB의 넉넉한 용량을 제공, 용량이 큰 업무용 메일도 여유있게 쓸 수 있다. 최근 외부 메일을 손쉽게 관리하고 읽고 쓰기 기능을 개선하는 업데이트를 실시했다.
