SEOUL, KOREA – Samsung SDS is set to post KRW 7.45 trillion in sales by nurturing its logistics IT business into a new growth engine. The percentage of its sales from overseas markets will also be expanded to 40% in a bid to attain KRW 2.98 trillion in overseas sales.
“Leveraging our logistics platform “CELLO,” we will scale up our logistics IT business with the goal of achieving a year-on-year sales growth of 22% and raising the share of overseas sales to 40%,” said the CEO of Samsung SDS at the regular shareholders’ meeting, held on Friday.
Samsung SDS’s logistics IT business realm will also be broadened to the EU and Latin America from the current markets (China and Southeast Asian nations). Efforts to add global competitiveness to logistic solution CELLO, which was developed at an investment of KRW 100 million, will also be made.
Samsung SDS will target emerging markets with its construction, transport and convergence solutions and the Chinese market with its smart manufacturing capability. Samsung SDS is also keen on moving forward its e-government business.

삼성SDS, 올해 물류IT 강화해 매출 7조4500억 달성 목표
삼성SDS가 올해 물류IT 사업을 성장동력으로 강화해 매출 7조4500억원을 달성할 계획이다. 해외매출 비중을 40%까지 확대해 2조9800억원을 달성하기로 했다.
고순동 삼성SDS 대표는 지난 15일 삼성SDS멀티캠퍼스에 열린 정기주주총회에서 “물류솔루션인 첼로를 기반으로 물류IT 사업을 신규성장 동력으로 강화해 올해 매출을 전년 대비 22% 성장시키고 해외매출 비중은 40%를 달성할 계획”이라고 밝혔다.
삼성SDS는 미래 성장을 위한 신규 사업으로 물류IT 서비스 범위를 조달과 판매물류로 확대한다. 물류IT 사업권역도 중국•동남아 중심에서 유럽과 중남미로 넓힌다. 1000억원을 들여 개발한 물류솔루션 `첼로`의 글로벌 경쟁력도 갖출 방침이다. 삼성SDS는 첼로를 삼성코닝정밀소재 등 삼성그룹 계열사와 포스코•두산 등에도 공급했다. 물류전문가 영입도 적극 추진했다.
해외시장 공략도 강화한다. 신흥국 시장은 건설•교통•융복합 솔루션으로, 중국 시장은 스마트 제조 역량 기반으로 공략한다. 전자정부 사업도 적극 확대한다. 해외사업 추진을 위해 해외총괄체제 도입과 글로벌지원팀을 신설했다. 솔루션 기반 글로벌 사업을 확대하기 위해 요금징수(AFC), 에너지관리시스템(BEMS), 생산관리시스템(MES)의 글로벌 경쟁력도 확보한다. 대외 사업은 철저하게 수익성 중심으로 진행한다. 프로젝트 품질과 진척관리를 강화해 운영시스템의 모니터링 체계를 재정비 한다.
삼성SDS는 지난 2012년 매출액 6조1059억원, 영업이익 5580억원을 기록했다. 2011년 대비 매출액은 28.1%, 영업이익은 34.9% 증가했다.
