SEOUL, KOREA - Hyundai Mobis announced on May 28 that it passed the 1-million mark in cumulative production of complete chassis modules that were supplied to Chrysler. A chassis module refers to a unit of parts that combine a chassis frame with engine, transmission, brake, and steering devices.
On May 27, Hyundai Mobis held a ceremony to celebrate the milestone at its module factory in Ohio in the U.S. Hyundai Mobis passed the 1-million level on May 17.
Hyundai Mobis started supplying chassis modules from 2006 that have been mounted on Chrysler's Jeep Wrangler, Grand Cherokee, and Dodge Durango.
Hyundai Mobis opened the Ohio plant in 2006 and the Michigan one in 2010, thereby establishing a complete chassis module production and supply system. These plants have a combined annual production capacity of 520,000 units.
