SEOUL, KOREA - The construction equipment division of Hyundai Heavy Industries is doing very well of late. According to the company on May 31, its construction equipment division has won new orders worth US$370 million in April alone. This is $120 million more than that in March.
A company official said that the figures are about 10 percent below that for the same month last year but sales revenue is recovering steadily as orders from new markets such as Kazakhstan and Turkey are increasing rapidly.
Hyundai Heavy has been actively pursuing new customers by attending more than ten trade fairs such as PlantWorx (UK), AstanaBuild (Kazakhstan), and Komatek (Turkey) since early this year. Within Korea, the company has held three exhibitions and succeeded in winning orders worth $71 million for 1,380 excavators and wheel loaders.
