SEOUL, KOREA - Ssangyong Motor announced on June 11 that it will display Korando C EV-R at the 35th ENVEX 2013 that is scheduled to be held at COEX in Seoul.
Korando C EV-R was developed in line with an environmental project carried out by the Ministry of Environment.
Korando C EV-R employs a 100kW electric motor and a 16kWh 420V high-voltage lithium polymer battery. Korando C EV-R can run for up to 150 km in maximum with a pure electric energy (EV mode).
A high-efficiency engine generator can extend the maximum driving distance through self-power generation without additional power recharging. On an EV-R mode, Korando C EV-R can run up to 500 km. Ssangyong Motor plans to establish a mass-production system for EV-R by 2016.
Ssangyong Motor is implementing the project through cooperation with the Korea Institute of Energy Research, the Korea Automotive Technology Institute, and EngineTech.
