SEOUL, KOREA - The optimized midnight bus routes will be set up by utilizing Big Data technology. And comprehensive information on regional and age-specific trends of major epidemic diseases will be established as well.
The government has selected six Big Data pilot projects in the fields of transportation, health, medication and others with an aim of completing them by the end of this year.
The Ministry of Future, Creation and Science is going to develop public services by linking large-sized data retained by the public and private sectors
The six pilot projects are the establishment of midnight bus routes by connecting data among local telecommunications service providers (KT consortium), an epidemic disease warning service by linking national health database and social media information (National Health Insurance Service consortium), an early warning service on medication safety (SGA consortium), a medical service including the prediction of ventricular arrhythmia (Asan Medical Center consortium), a service of analyzing shop histories to back up small business founders (OPEN mate consortium), and an intelligent news searching service (Advanced Institute of Convergence Technology consortium).
The Ministry expects that the six Big Data pilot projects would be expanded to both the public and private sectors.
“Such public service models based on Big Data will be the catalyst for finding other creative services through the combination of public institutes and private companies,” says Park Jae-moon from the Ministry.

빅데이터 기술을 활용해 심야시간 최적의 버스 노선 정책이 수립된다. 또 주요 유행성 질병의 지역별·연령별 등 위험동향 등 종합정보도 제공된다.
정부가 오는 연말 서비스 개시를 목표로 추진하는 교통, 보건·의료 등 6개 빅데이터 시범사업을 선정했다.
미래창조과학부는 공공과 민간이 보유한 대용량의 데이터를 연계, 공익형 서비스를 개발할 방침이다.
6개 시범 사업은 △지자체통신사 간 데이터 연계를 통한 심야버스 노선 수립 지원(KT컨소시엄) △국민의료건강 DB와 소셜 미디어 정보의 연계 분석을 통한 질병 주의 예보 서비스 (국민건강보험공단 컨소시엄)△의약품 안전성 조기경보 서비스(에스지에이컨소시엄) △심실부정맥 예측 등 의료서비스(서울아산병원 컨소시엄) △소상공인 창업성공률 제고를 위한 점포이력 분석 서비스(오픈메이트 컨소시엄) △지능형 뉴스검색 서비스(차세대융합기술연구원 컨소시엄) 등이다.
미래부는 빅데이터 시범 사업이 공공·민간으로 확산되는데 기여할 것으로 예상했다.
박재문 미래부 정보화전략국장은 “빅데이터를 활용한 공익형 서비스 모델은 향후 다양한 공공기관과 민간기업의 연계를 통한 창조적 서비스 발굴의 촉매제가 될 것”으로 기대했다.
