SEOUL, KOREA- Samsung Electronics is stepping up "art marketing" to expand the sales of 85-inch Ultra HD (UHD) TVs that it released in January 2013.
Given that the 85-inch UHD TV is a high-priced model with a retail price of about 40 million won, Samsung Electronics showed off the UHD TVs at various exhibitions and performances targeting VIP customers, the main buyers of UHD TVs.
The company announced on June 28 that it displayed the 85-inch UHD TV at the G-Seoul 2013 Art Fair held at the Grand Hilton Hotel in Seoul. G-Seoul is an event participated by about 50 major galleries in Europe, the United States, and Asian countries. By inviting VIP art connoisseurs with insight on artworks around the world, the G-Seoul event gives them a chance to listen to lectures of professional artists and in-depth explanations of the artworks displayed.
Samsung Electronics' UHD TV 85S9 is slated to be displayed at the lobby and VIP lounge until July 1. Prior to G-Seoul, Samsung Electronics also displayed its 85-inch UHD TV at Austria's Der Wiener Staatsoper, one of Europe's top three opera houses.
