SEOUL, KOREA- Daum Communications announced on July 10 that it acquired a controlling stake in a mobile advertising platform company TNK Factory, emerging as its largest shareholder.
TNK Factory is a frontrunner in the cross promotion platform business that enables mobile advertising alliances. At present, TNK Factory set up alliance networks with about 600 app developers, with the cumulative number of downloads for the allied apps estimated at more than 30 million.
With the latest acquisition, Daum Communications expects to expand its presence in the mobile advertising market by promoting connections between its in-house mobile advertising platform Ad@m and TNK Factory’s mobile advertising platform. In particular, Daum Communications expects to increase its presence in Cost per Action (CPA) market that covers the Pay per Install (PPI) business.
Daum Communications, accordingly, is now capable of covering a wide range of mobile advertising areas, including CPC and CPM (through its Ad@m), CPA (through TNK Factory) and the home screen of smartphones (through its recently formed alliance with Cash Slide).
