PARIS, FRANCE- Orange’s wholesale division has launched a new service that will allow mobile operators to provide their customers with a 4G roaming service. Orange’s “LTE Signalling” offer enables operators to provide end(users with the significantly improved service of 4G networks while roaming outside their home country. As a key contributor to GSMA standards and a supporter of Open Connectivity principles, Orange has an ambitious program to extend LTE Signalling through direct connectivity and peering agreements. In this respect, the Group can announce that it has already set(up interconnection agreements with the other major carriers. Today Orange is capable of offering connectivity with most LTE networks across Europe, Americas and Asia.

leveraging Orange’s expertise in mobile signalling and roaming

With almost 20 years of experience and offering one of the largest available footprints, Orange provides operators with complete solutions that support all roaming technologies, including signalling, data and value added services.

LTE Signalling is one of the à la carte services available through Orange’s Multiservice IP eXchange solution which provides a high(level of security and quality of service. Orange’s IPX network offers a large footprint that comprises 30 points of presence (PoPs) worldwide. It guarantees a packet(loss ratio of less than 0.05% and jitter inferior to 5ms. LTE Signalling, based on the "Diameter” signalling protocol, is built on dedicated platforms integrated in Orange’s cutting(edge IPX network and provides additional security, interoperability and enhanced routing functions.

harnessing the power of LTE to generate new revenues

As an integrated operator providing end(to(end network solutions, Orange is in a strong position to support mobile operators by enabling them to provide their customers with the ability to use 4G services while abroad.

“Orange has developed LTE Signalling for operators to allow them to build a highquality 4G roaming service that is fully compliant with GSMA guidelines. The Group’s Open Connectivity policy and extensive peering agreements allow us to provide wholesale clients with the opportunity to benefit from a large coverage. LTE Signalling is a musthave service that offers both differentiation and the ability to generate additional revenues in an increasingly evolutive market,” says Alexandre Pébereau, EVP International Carriers, Orange.

The LTE ecosystem is growing fast and the number of LTE subscribers worldwide is forecast to exceed 1 billion by 20171. These customers will form the core of the high(end segment and will be characterized by high expectations in terms of services offering very high speed and low latency, wherever they are and across a wide variety of devices.
