In the report, Goldman Sachs said Korea is one of the few underappreciated markets with stable macroeconomic indicators. As for Singapore, the report rated it as the safest bet in the whole Asia Pacific.
Given the high ratio of exports in the economy, the Goldman Sachs report said, Korea will likely benefit from a possible recovery of the U.S. economy. The report continued, "Even though the tapering of U.S. quantitative easing policy is being postponed, the market-wide confidence in U.S.-led global economic recovery is still strong. Korea, along with Taiwan, is the country with the highest potential to benefit from this."
