SEOUL, KOREA - KT announced on November 12 that it will develop a broadband LTE home Femto Cell, first in the world, and establish a commercial service system within this year on a gradual basis.
The broadband LTE home Femto Cell is a new technology that enables the provision of a broadband LTE service in a faster manner to the people at homes or small in-buildings (including restaurants and cafés) and those under poor electromagnetic environments.
The KT broadband LTE home Femto Cell can support the mainstay 1.8-GHz broadband frequency, provide high-quality service through ultra-high speed Internet network, guarantee high-quality mobility between outdoor base stations and home Femto cells, strengthen security for safe traffic transmission, and apply SON (Self Organizing Network) technology to allow installation and management even when external wireless environment is changed.
