SEOUL, KOREA - Naver’s mobile messenger Line is taking steps to expand the scope of its user base by joining hands with Kreon Mobile, a mobile subsidiary of Kreon, the largest online game publisher in Indonesia. At present, Naver has more than 14 million subscribers in Indonesia.

 

Line Plus announced on November 12 that it formed a strategic business tie-up with Kreon Mobile to expand its user base in Indonesia’s mobile market that has been growing at a rapid pace in recent years.

Under the terms of the alliance, Kreon Mobile’s top quality games will be introduced through Line. The two parties will carry out a wide range of joint marketing, aimed at expanding the number of mobile game users in Indonesia and, from the long-term perspective, spreading their brand recognition toward rural areas there.

In addition to the mobile game area, the two companies will also make the pre-paid card used at Kreon Mobile’s 26,000 Internet cafés available at Line as a means of payment.
