The Ministry of Information and Communication completed the construction works to upgrade the ubiquitous dream exhibition hall, a representative IT exhibition hall in Korea, and held an event of re-opening on the 23rd day in the presence of Roh Jun-hyong, Ministry of Information and Communication. CEO's of KT, SKT, LGF, LG Electronics, members of the science and technology IT committee in the National Assembly and the president of ETRI also attended.

For the event, about 20 girls, boys, and handicapped children were invited in order to give hope and courage to children who are the leading part of the future. The invited had a chance of experiencing the ubiquitous life which will be made with IT technology. In the past, visitors of the exhibition hall could indirectly experience the IT technology through artificial manipulation of machines or demonstrations by guides. But in this newly upgraded ubiquitous dream exhibition hall, exhibits are expanded so visitors can directly participate and experience them. They can easily understand how the ubiquitous technology is applied and contributed to real life.

This newly opened hall is composed of a u-wall that visually provides for easy understanding the concept of ubiquity through the walls of the exhibition hall, a u-home that shows future homes composed of intelligent doors which are opened to authorized hosts only, intelligent TV which provides various services, and a digital frame where we can appreciate famous works of arts at home. The hall also includes a u-office where workers, by use of 3D hologram technology, can perform 3-dimensional and practical works with people in any place through real-time conferences and a u-public zone where various ubiquitous technologies which will be used in public places like bus stops and cafes are demonstrated.

In addition IT technology such as WiBro which is commercialized in Korea, ground-satellite DMB, W-CDMA, and HSDPA is demonstrated in another section. On the second floor of the exhibition hall, a display zone that provides image information through which major IT technologies can be understood at a glance, an Internet game zone, and a photo zone are prepared, where visitors can take a rest comfortably.

The Ministry of Information and Communication sets humanistic ubiquitous as the topic of the operation of the ubiquitous dream exhibition hall in 2007 in order for cold and heartless u-IT technology to be felt warm enough to sympathize with human beings. And it plans to hold various events such as having the class estranged from information visit the exhibition hall, having elementary, middle, and high school students visit the ubiquitous exhibition hall and holding a contest for composition and holding a public invitation exhibition of the ubiquitous technology for university students.

In order to provide the chances that the people experience the ubiquitous technology and to promote the Korean IT technology in and out of Korea, the Ministry of Information and Communication constructed the hall on the first floor of its office in 2004. After it was opened, 280,000 major figures from Korea and foreign countries including the president of India visited this hall. It has been used as the space where the press of each country collects information on Korean information technology.

The exhibition will be open from March 24, and the hall opens from Monday to Saturday from 10 o'clock in the morning to 6 o'clock in the evening. Tickets can be reserved at the website www.u-dream.or.kr.
