There, the Ministry introduced the status of the development of the Korean IT industry, together with high technology like WiBro and DMB and held a technical demonstration of WiBro and DMB.
This event was a good opportunity for Korea to highlight its image as strong IT power in Saudi Arabia and to improve the image of the Korean IT companies and products.
Construction of the channel between both governments for IT cooperation is expected to increase export of IT products like mobile phones to make the environment advantageous for advancement of WiBro and DMB into the local market, and to expand chances that the Korean IT companies can penetrate into the local market. Especially through the demonstration of WiBro and DMB, Samsung Electronics made a contract for supply which will make a contribution to promoting the WiBro business of Bayanat that is a data communication company in Saudi Arabia and is preparing for commercial service from July.
