Dr. Yoo said, “A total of 584 including 17 new theses have already been submitted. The number has increased this year thanks to China's technology mass production.”

According to the executive committee of IMID 2014, the number of theses submitted has increased 17% from 497 in 2013 to 584 this year in total, in the case of from Korea, 9% from 337 to 369, and from other countries including China (32% from 50 to 66) 24%.

The committee concluded that OLED-related technologies have developed a lot with a 27% increase from 74 in 2013 to 94 in 2014.

Prof. Lee said, “Business forums are usually aimed at seeking profits, therefore, they have high registration, lecture, and information-earning fees while academic conferences are more concerned with learning. What matters for them is sponsorship. As the city of Taegu has annually funded the event, we picked it up as the venue for IMID 2014.”
