The 61st story of a full-length business novel.

Even these days, this sort of Field Manual is so effective undercover. As always, all day long the assassins are on the watch for the target at every nook and corner. In some cases, they wear bulky jackets even on warm days.

Otherwise, they may disguise themselves in stolen police uniforms carrying a bomb in a vest. Or, they may set up rearview mirrors and side view mirrors at every corner to watch the targeted man. Then, they may blow a whistle and approach him on the pretext of the check of speed and passive belt as if they were speed cops. Then they tumble him down with radar guns in a moment. Sometimes, they may camouflage themselves as pregnant women within a pistol-shot. Of course, they affect to be indifferent to him like bystanders. Then they are suddenly to approach and thrust him behind him. Otherwise, they, as street-smart snipers, lie prone their bodies at the shaded areas with machine guns. And they are waiting for an exquisite timing to hit the target at the opportune moment. Likewise, a series of the plots may be incognizable to the opposite side. And, it may be progressed smoothly underway. Doing such actions is a universal manual of the plot.

Naturally, the plotters at the court of Shilla fully and deeply understood the manual as in the process of the creation of the rumor. So they had scouted a professional killer, who was proficient to the manual. And they had hired him as the assassin to kill him. So the killer was already there, close to him. So Chang Bo-ko was already trapped in the line of ambush in his camp and going on the dead end. Nonetheless, he himself had never noticed the on-going situation.

Really he had never noticed the plotters’ black mind - why they had been eager to kill him. He had no idea absolutely. For the reason, he had not made any preventive perception against the plotters. Subsequently, he could not have pierced a disguise of the assassin. As a result, he had been and was undefended. All of it was the greatest weakness to his personal security. Reversely, the very thing was the greatest strength for the plotters. Of course, they did know his purest mind and his loyal behavior. So they were to kill him by surprise by exploiting it all. For the reason, the assassin had been already there in disguises of his friend and/or neighbor. But it was undetected to him. Indeed, he had not recognized him as his enemy. On the other side, as for the killer, he was waiting for a golden chance and trying to make a surprise attack upon him. When the time arrived, Chang, Bo-ko did not hear his footsteps. And he was undefended. So he could not make any counterplan against his enemy. Already the killer’s snickersnee pierced into his heart from the back.

Looking at his sudden death, lots of soldiers were staggering and bewildered. Momentarily, their heart melted. Their bodies trembled. Every face grew pale. Then they moaned in a tearful voice. Then they were to run berserk and kill him. At this, he said to his men fearlessly and as proud as punch as below:

“From long ago he has been deeply involved in the affairs of the state. Nobody can deny it. It was not a veiled fact any longer. And then he had an outrageous dream. Allegedly you might have heard of the rumor. In fact, the rumor was true and correct. For years, he has sought to transpire his ambition to be enthroned with the means of his considerable wealth and military power. Many people, at the court as well as over the countryside alike, have been deeply concerned about his possible rebellion. For such a reason, before his treason, I had to remove him for the country’s bright future.”

Like this, he leisurely justified his illegal action snip-snap. Then he was pleading for forgiveness for his crime as below:

“Like you all, I do know of him in depth. He has made a great contribution for the national prosperity and the people’s welfare. So I have admired him very much privately so far. So, it had been a nagging question to me when I was to kill him. However, I have loved my daring country, Shilla, much more. There was no other choice for me. It is so sad and deplorable. But, I had to do it. My action was a patriotic act to save the country from the rebellion. It is my free-will act out of justice. That’s why I had to kill him unwillingly. Simply, the reality is lamentable.”

In this dissembling way, he was craving for patriotism. Here he looked to be a great patriot but not a mean killer. And his attitude looked to be a ‘freewheel’ without a transmission manual. And his speeches sounded to be freespoken out of great patriotism. However, all of his act and speech were not a ‘freewheel’ at all. (Below is an image of freewheel in a bicycle. The wheel was being remotely controlled by the cunning plotters at the back stage. Right, the speeches were not better than histrionics. In reality, all his acts and speeches had been already prepared as part of the perfect plot before his killing. This time, therefore, all of them were simply being playacted in a plausible way before their eyes. Furthermore, all the performances at the moment were a ‘creephole’ itself. Truly it had been intended to cover his real identity and conceal his hideous crime. Therefore, it was clear and true that:

“The killer’s act was a willful murder. And his speech was a glaring lie.”

Nonetheless, the performances were perfect and the speeches seemingly justifiable. Once again he said to the soldiers leisurely that:

“Even now I am prepared to die to save the country.”

At this point, his word was the capstone of the perfect plot. And he looked like a Brutus of Korea. (Below was the bust of Brutus as a senator of Rome. Source: Wikipedia)
