SEOUL, KOREA - LG Electronics has decidedto lower the factory prices of its smartphone G3 Bit by 70,000 won, whilecutting the prices of G3A and Gx2 by 100,000 won each from October 23.This isthe first case of reduction in smartphone factory prices since the launch ofthe handset distribution structure improvement act.
The factory price of G3Bit which is selling through three telecom companies in Korea, accordingly,will be lowered from 499,000 won to 429,000 won.
The price of G3A, whichis selling through SK Telecom, will be reduced from 704,000 won to 640,000 won,while those of Gx2, an exclusive model for LG U+, will be cut from 693,000 wonto 590,000 won.
LG Electronics, jointlywith the telecom companies, plans to make an official notice with respect tothe reduction in factory prices of its three smartphone models.
The telecom companiesalso asked LG Electronics to lower the factory price of the relatively newsmartphone G3 from 899,800 won to 840,000 won.The telecom companies are also intalks with Samsung Electronics to reduce the factory price of Galaxy S4.
