SEOUL, KOREA - The sales of LG Electronics’ premium refrigerators which are mounted with inverter linear compressors passed the 10-million mark.LG Electronics announced on November 24 that the cumulative sales of its inverter refrigerators passed the 10-million level this month after surpassing 5 million in 2011 and 1 million in 2007.
The annual sales of LG inverter refrigerators is likely to exceed 2 million units this year, first in history, thanks to the increase in their sales not only at home but in North America, Europe, and the CIS.In other words, LG inverter refrigerators were sold four units per second this year.
LG developed the inverter linear compressor for the first time in the world in 2001. This technology features high power efficiency and less noise. The 5G inverter linear compressor, developed this year, realized a 32-percent improvement in efficiency and 5-dB improvement in noise generation.
