SEOUL KOREA - Ssangyong Motor plans to roll out the Tivoli gasoline model in January 2015, as part of an effort to expand its sales in and outside Korea.
ASsangyong official said, “We developed Tivoli to achieve annual sales of up to 100,000 units. We will go all-out to boost its export and domestic sales volume up to 100,000.”
The Tivoli will be produced at the Line No. 1 of Ssangyong’s Pyeongtaek plant, together with Korando C. The company recently revised its annual sales target for this year downward to 150,500 units (including 81,500 units in exports and 69,000 units in domestic sales) from 160,000.
As its exports fell about 7 percent this year compared to a year ago, its capacity utilization declined. The addition of the Tivoli to its lineup would contribute to boosting the capacity ratio of the Pyeongtaek plant which has an annual production capacity of 250,000 units.
Ssangyong Motor plans to release a diesel model in the second quarter of next year, following the gasoline model in the first quarter.
