Seoul Korea - The employees of SamsungTechwin, a defense unit of Samsung Group, formed an emergency committee toresist the group’s sale of the company to Hanwha Group. The emergency committeesaid on December 3, “We will never negotiate on any terms of the sale deal.”
The emergency committeeheld a press conference at the press center at the office of the SouthChungcheong provincial government on the day, where it said, “All staff atSamsung Techwin are raising a single voice against the sale of our company toHanwha since the Samsung Group decided to do so.”
An emergency committee representativesaid, “The Future Strategy Office of the Samsung Group is revealing to themedia as if negotiations are underway, including the scope of compensation, aspart of an effort to make the sale as a fait accompli.”
The committee stressedthat it has not been contacted by the Samsung Group over any issue, adding thatthe group should stop playing the media and listen to the voice of the workersat Samsung Techwin.
