Seoul Korea - LG Electronics announced on December 7 that its strategic smartphone G3 acquired the U.S.National Security Agency’s NIAP (National Information Assurance Partnership) security certification.
With the acquisition of the NIAP security certification, LG Electronics can supply its G3 to the U.S.government agencies. The smartphones which deal with confidential information of the U.S. government should comply with the NIAP security standards.
An LG official said,“G3’s security excellence is proved by this certification, which will help boost our presence in the North American market.”The G3 has been acclaimed as having a variety of superior security features, including Knock Code and Kill Switch.
Among Korean companies,Samsung Electronics has been the only company which acquired the NIAP certification in October 2013. Samsung’s NIAP-certified products consist of six smartphones,including Galaxy Note 4 mounted with Knox, and three tablets, including Galaxy Tab S 8.4.
