Samsung Electronics started selling its virtual reality device “Samsung Gear VR Innovator Edition” in the United States at the price of $199.99. The Korean electronics company released the Gear VR officially through its U.S. website on December 8.
Samsung launched the Gear VR whose product model number is SM-R320NPWSXAR, jointly with VR technology firm Oculus VR, a subsidiary of Facebook.
To use the Gear VR, one needs to have a Samsung Galaxy Note 4. By inserting the Gear VR into the Galaxy Note 4, users can have VR experience by using the integrated touchpad and tracking sensor mounted on the Gear VR.
Some game apps, however, require an Android game controller to ensure high precision control. The Gear VR is different from the Oculus Rift, a VR headset which Oculus is developing for itself.
