Daum Kakao geared up to launch a Kakao taxi service. Daum Kakao announced on December 17 that it will sign an agreement with the Seoul Taxi Association and Korea Smart Card as part of an effort to kick off the Kakao taxi service.
The three parties will set up a mutual cooperation scheme to promote the Kakao taxi service.Under the terms of the deal, Daum Kakao will be responsible for development and operation of Kakao taxi service-related mobile applications and systems, establishment of related policies, and marketing and promotion of the service.
The Seoul Taxi Association will be in charge of supplying and attracting a stable number of taxi drivers, while Korea Smart Card, the operator of traffic card T-Money, will contribute to expanding the service by using its digital infrastructure.
Daum Kakao is now developing the Kakao taxi service which will be launched within the first quarter of next year. This service aims to connect passengers with taxi drivers safely and conveniently through a mobile application.
