LG Electronics is set to reveal brand-new 55- and 65-inch UHD LCD TVs using Quantum dot technologies. The company will showcase them at the world’s largest home electronics trade show CES 2015 which is scheduled to be held in Las Vegas from January 6, 2015.
At the CES 2015, Samsung Electronics is also expected to display a new-concept Quantum dot LCD curved TV.Other major TV makers, including Japan’s Sony and China’s Haier, are also planning to reveal their new Quantum dot TVs at the trade fair.
The global TV industry’s new keyword for the year 2015 related to innovation will likely to be Quantum dot, following this year’s curved TV.
LG Electronics’ new Quantum dot TVs will feature a wide viewing angle—the strength of the IPS (in-plane switching) panel, and high color accuracy. Compared to existing LCD TVs, they will realize more than 30 percent wider color reproduction range.
