Korean Display and Mobile Export Fields Lead World Markets

Smooth sailing for LG’s newest products

The Korean display and mobile industry noted big gains in the global export market. The display industry recorded US$2.2 billion in total exports and passed the total exports of the automotive industry in June and July.

In the mobile phone export market it is expected that the market share of Korean mobile phones will be higher than 30 percent of the world mobile phone market. The mobile phone industry earned US$2.8 billion in total exports, which is the highest export market in Korea.

The semiconductor industry is also in hot pursuit of the mobile phone export market as its monthly exports have recovered to the point of US$2.7 billion.

Meanwhile, the balance of payments in July got back into the black at US$5.1 billion, which makes six months of continuous profits since  Feb. 2009.
