Samsung Electronics has decided to apply the smart device operating system Tizen, which it developed together with Intel, for all its smart TVs starting from next year. This decision reflects Samsung’s strategy to establish an ecosystem which is based on its own operating system, as well as to take strong initiatives in the coming Internet of Things era.
According to industry sources on December 29, Samsung Electronics decided to apply Tizen operating system for all of its smart TVs starting from next year.By using the operating system which has excellent openness, Samsung plans to create an environment where various electronics devices can be connected in a more convenience and easier manner.
Samsung plans to show off its Tizen operating system-applied smart TV first at the CES 2015 which is scheduled to open on January 6 in Las Vegas.Samsung,which has the largest market share in the global TV market, aims to sell more than 30 million smart TVs next year.
