Finance and Investment Forum builds on success in London and announces return to Hong Kong.

26 January 2015 - The 8th annual Finance and Investment Forum held in London last week was attended by more than 200 executives from investment companies, financiers, banks, professional services firms, together with the leadership of datacentre and cloud owning companies.

The event researcher and producer BroadGroup has now announced that the forum will return to Hong Kong in the autumn of this year in what will be the 3rd annual event.

The one-day forum brings together stakeholders and players across finance and investment including private equity firms, hedge funds, investors, bankers and analysts, with public and privately owned cloud services, carrier neutral and carrier owned operational companies, government and regional investment authorities, property interests, and law firms to assess the market outlook and identify key opportunities, types of finance available, M&A and business models.

Considered to be the “best place to take the temperature of the industry,” FIF offers several critical advantages to all attendees including exposure to key investors (providing often difficult or rare opportunities for many companies across the sector) - 30% of attendees are typically investors; exposure to key influencers (such as the key players to support fund raising or an IPO). It also offers high level analysis of the market for datacentre and cloud assets, company valuations and investor experience.

“Publicly quoted stock in the datacentre sector has reached around US$40 billion globally,” commented Steve Wallage, managing director, BroadGroup Consulting. “However privately owned businesses, and enterprise owned assets suggest that the true global value is exponentially higher. This forum is the only meeting of its kind, offers unparalleled networking and we encourage investors to exploit its unparalleled networking opportunities.”

Hong Kong is experiencing sustained growth in the fields of data centres and internet/cloud applications,” commented Claude Achcar, Managing Director, Actel Consulting and a partner company of BroadGroup. “It leverages its unique heritage and geographic position to attract both international firms pursuing business in China and Chinese firms expanding overseas and is an ideal location for the forum to continue.

Researched and produced by consulting firm BroadGroup the first forum took place at the Cass Business School in London in 2007 and since then it has become recognized as the only annual international meeting point for investors, operators, professional intermediaries and legal counsel focused on the datacentre and cloud industry.
