CJ Cheil Jedang(http://www.cj.co.kr) announced its annual results in 2014 showing that its total revenue except CJ Korea Express recorded 7.3658 trillion KRW ($ 70 Hundred Million), 2.2% up slightly from the previous year.
“We pushed ahead with aggressive restructuring at all the units including food business. Along with this, the recovery in the international price of lysine improved the profitability at the company level in spite of prolonged depression in domestic demand.” The operating profit of CJ Cheil Jedang in 2014 reached 431.5 billion KRW, 24.5% up from the previous year.
Its food business recorded its annual sales of 3.8399 trillion KRW last year, 1.9% up for the same period. CJ Cheil Jedang’s biotechnology department including bio and pharmaceutical fields reached the revenue of 1.9083 trillion KRW, 0.8% up slightly from the previous year.
Its biological resource department reached 1.6177 trillion KRW, 4.4 % up from the previous year since the sales of feed in its major overseas markets such as Indonesia and Vietnam increased year on year despite shrinking demand caused by the outbreak of animal diseases like Porcine epidemic diarrhea (PED).
