Chen Haiyan, president of state-owned Chinese conglomerate Citic Group making the announcement of GIGA Korea’s O2O multiplatform with numbered domain as the opening speech

The conference of GIGA Korea’s O2O (Online to Offline) multi-business platform with numeric domains was held in COEX Auditorium at 2 p.m. on March 21. This was aimed to Korean companies making inroads into the Chinese market as well as the global market through O2O platform while providing the information of the newly developed O2O platform.

At the conference, on behalf of CITIC Group, Chen said, “China and Korea are indisputable partners for each other and they are willing to offer strategic support in pursuit of economic development. The export between the two countries has increased more than ten times and they truly become a community of interest.”

She added, “Shenzhen is located in the unshakable position of Chinese economic development. Its development is part of a success story where young people account for 80 percent of its population amounting to 15 million, hence the youngest city of all in China.”

Chen introduced her company saying, “Citic Group is globalized in the areas of finance and business. It was established under the guidance of Deng Xiaoping who led China's reform and opening up and the official approval of Mao Run, then vice president on October 4, 1979. Citic Group has abundant resources and capabilities and it has reached out to more than 40 businesss like production, technology, finance, trade and service. The financial business is vital in its growth strategy and accounts for 81 percent of the Group’s assets.”

“Other than financial business, there are various businesses it has engaged in such as real estate infrastructure, development of economic zones, fair subcontract, capital and energy, commercial trade in information industry and service. Late 2011, Citic Group was listed as A-share, and there are six other listed affiliates like CITIC GUOAN Group, Citic Bank, CITIC Securities Company Limited, CITIC Offshore Helicopter Co., Ltd. CITIC Heavy Industries CO., Ltd., and CITIC-Portugal,” added she.

She also said, “There are CITIC PACIFIC, CITIC Energy, CITIC 21 Century, CITIC Telecom International Holdings. Ltd. , Citic Bank H-share, CITIC Securities H-share which are listed in Hong Kong, The CITIC Medical health Ltd. is the wholly owned largest subsidiary focusing on medical investment, good aging and living, premium health care, management support for hospitals and commercial related works, and CITIC Medical is making its efforts for public customers.”

In her closing the opening speech, he said, “I hope that our partnership will be successful.”
