Samsung SDS Starts to Cooperate for Marketing on Solution Business in China with Oracle

Samsung SDS starts the joint marketing on solution business with Oracle, the world-renowned information and technology (IT) corporation.

On March 24, Samsung SDS and Oracle Korea announced that they signed the memorandum of understanding (MOU) about ‘Joint Marketing on global solution business.’

Both companies decided to take advantage of Oracle’s global solution partner program, making Samsung SDS’ solutions of logistics and analysis optimized for Oracle’s database, middle ware and engineered system. With this enhanced synergy effects, they will target the Chinese IT market with high potential of growth.

According to Gartner, the world’s logistics IT market is expected to advance 9.5 percent per year up to $14.6 billion in 2018, from $10.3 billion in 2014. In particular, the Chinese market is said to grow 16.2 percent a year, twice as fast as the growth rate of the global logistics IT industry.

The cutting-edge technology which includes Internet of things (IoT)-based tracking service, demand forecast through big data analysis and SCM (Supply Chain Management) and logistics plan by using the optimization analysis skills is integrated into Samsung SDS’s logistics solution.

Samsung SDS has a plan to launch its high-performing platform with various analysis models and in-memory for analyzing big data in the Chinese maket, which will be the result of synergy between its solution and Oracle’s appliance for analyzing big data. The solution of Samsung SDS can collect, analyze and visualize the data from all the sensors installed in process equipments by adding its capability of big data analysis and software development.

“The solutions of logistics and analysis are globally competitive since Samsung SDS’ technology and business skills are melted in,” said Lim Su-hyun, Samsung SDS’ executive director at the planning office, “Samsung SDS has a plan to seek cooperation with various global companies in other areas on top of this cooperation.”

“This MOU is significant in that it is the first move after Samsung SDS’ general meeting of stockholders held on March 13 announced the early implementation of advance into foreign markets and global business,” added another official from Samsung SDS.
