LG Electronics' OLED TV won the golden award at the Edison Awards, the most prestigious invention award in the United States.
According to LG Electronics on April 26, the Edison Foundation selects the award-winning products and services after seven months of evaluations in the areas of science and technology, raw materials, and energy. LG Electronics became the only Korean company to receive the Edison Award this time.
LG's 55-inch OLED TV (model number 55EC9300), EcoHybrid dryer (model number DLHX4072V) and Art Cool Gallery air-conditioner (model number LA090HVP) won the golden, silver and bronze medals, respectively.
The OLED TV, in particular, won the golden award in the environment area “Edison Green Award.” OLED TV was introduced as the best TV ever. The LG OLED TV won the UL green guard certification by reducing the emission of environmentally harmful materials.
LG's EcoHybrid dryer won the silver award in the energy management area. It reduces power consumption by up to 53 percent by reusing the heat of the exterior air vent which is discarded by other dryers.
