Renault Captur, which is now sold in Korea under the name “QM3,” is savoring sweeping popularity in the European market.
According to industry sources on June 29, European sales of the Renault Captur stood at 83,797 units in the first five months of this year, ranking No. 1 among compact SUV models there.
Following the Captur were Peugeot 2008 with 70,250 units, Opel Mokka with 69,200 units, Dacia Duster with 55,889 units, and Nissan Juke with 45,904 units. The Renault Captur also ranked No. 1 in 2014, with its sales estimated at 165,600 units, about 30,000 units higher than Peugeot 2008’s 135,992.
Following them were Dacia Duster with 129,462 units, Opel Mokka with 127,300 units, and Nissan Juke with 97,494 units.
Renault Samsung attributes the strong popularity of the Captur to its splendid design and a high level of fuel efficiency (18.5 kilometers per liter). The crossover SUV model was released in Europe first in March 2013 and started being sold in Korea from early last year.
