S. Korea’s Hyundai Elevator has clinched a US$1.43 million elevator deal (39 elevators, 22 escalators and 4 moving walks) from Water Garden, a shopping mall that is under construction in Turkey’s new financial and business centre, the Atasehir district of Istanbul.
Water Garden, scheduled for completion in the first half of 2016, will house a shopping mall, a 15,000㎡ extreme park, upscale restaurants, movie theaters, art galleries, aquatic performance stages, etc.
“Building on the sustainable growth of the Turkish economy, Turkey has briskly invested in the restaurant, shopping, entertainment sectors for the past couple of years. Water Garden will breathe new life into the economy of Istanbul,” said Mehmet Ziylan, chairman of Ziylan Real Estate that leads the development of Water Garden.
The headquarters of major companies and trade centers are also located in the Atasehir district, which is mainly home to high income earners and those who work at the Istanbul branches of foreign companies.
Adjacent to subway stations, highways and an airport, the Atasehir district is one of the most heavily-trafficked areas in Istanbul.
“We beat out global top-tier elevator companies to clinch the deal with Turkey, so it is very meaningful. We expect that equipping Istanbul’s new landmark Water Garden with only Hyundai-branded elevators will greatly enhance the brand image of Hyundai Elevator,” said an official from Hyundai Elevator.
