Samsung Electronics’ flagship smartwatch Gear S2 sold close to 60,000 units within one month since its release in the Korean and the U.S. markets.
The figure is twice the sales of its former smartwatch Gear S, which sold around 30,000 units.
Gear S2 was rolled out in three types -- the one connected with smartphones via Bluetooth; one communicating with 3G network; and the one with leather strap.
The nation's largest smartphone maker is scheduled to launch Gear S2 3G model in the U.S. market on Friday, its second roll-out following the Bluetooth model.
The company is set to gradually unveil the smartwatch in Europe, starting from Germany on Oct.2 and continue in England and France in the end of October. In China, Gear S2 Bluetooth model began to sell on Oct.23.
