SK Group, the nation's one of the largest conglobates, is set to push ahead with the semiconductor materials business together with OCI Materials.
SK Holdings said Tuesday it decided to buy a 49.1 percent stake valued at 481 billion won of OCI Materials during its shareholders' meeting on Monday.
SK and OCI inked a deal to trade stocks after the board members' decision and are set to complete the deal process down the road.
Since May, the mother company OCI has been pushing ahead with the sales deal of OCI Materials, a specialized firm producing and selling special gas used for manufacturing process in semiconductor, display and solar energy.
OCI Materials is known to have global competitiveness in the area of NF3, a key material for producing semiconductor.
