Gyeonggi province is  a perfect getaway site for city slickers, a historic site for many students, and a meditating ground for philosophers and believers. Beaches in the west coast, temples with great stories from the past, and stunning views of the landscape are only a few of the things that Gyeonggi has to offer. 

Gyeonggi Province has long been regarded as the center of Korea's culture and the heart of agriculture.  "We are blessed with countless cultural artifacts and remains, beautiful mountains, lakes and coastlines and a bounty of agricultural products," Governor Kim Moon-soo stated. In the process of putting this special report together on the note of Global Inspiration, the Korea IT Times was be able to track down and envision Gyeonggi's next hot zones by 2012.  Here are the glimpse of the top three master plans.

Sprinkle of Gold Powder on the West Coast

Theme Parks, marinas, ocean development, yacht contests, and ecological experiences are about to be sprinkled on the west coast in Gyeonggi Province. Sixteen regions including Shihwaho and Pyeongtaek are at the starting line of the west coast development project. "Shihwaho has a population of 20 million within a radius of 50 km. It's got the forest, beach, and the bay. Imagine all the recreational activities and experiences the region could possibly offer," said the staff of the Shihwaho Project.

Nearby in Ansan, an e-Science Park Project has been under construction since 2007. Themes including Energy Park, Ocean Street, and Ocean Village are to be found in this park by 2012. Songsan Green City, Sihwa Muti Techno Valley, and Project Content Industry are all happening at once in Gyeonggi Province in a large scale. Bromex, Cinepolis, and Hallyuwood are part of the Project Content Industry and are expected to boost up the nation's content industry and tourism industry.

Wild Roses Full in Bloom Between Cracks in the Ground

The Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) is the symbolic area that is created by the majesty of military security, history and ecology. Gyeonggi province is seeking to create an ecological garden in the DMZ to promote peace between the north and south.

"This will be a very significant project due to the fact that DMZ, such a product of division between the north and south, is about to promote its second definition as an international ecologic treasure," the governor continued, "Considering the fact that the zone is already claimed as the nation's top ecological environment, we will minimize the construction process. One thing that we will strive to maximize by 2010 is the quality of education programs and the operation system, which will urge the visitors to fully harmonize with the environment."

Gyeonggi announced that Ecological Garden for Peace will be located in PaJu and Yeoncheon by 2012.

Blue Campaign for the Great Rivers

Gyeonggi has the nation's best IT infrastructure, can it secure the water its people drink Taking intellectual man powers, high-tech research centers, and global enterprises to the next level, ubiquitous eco (u-Eco) environmental information system will be created to preserve and improve the quality of water. Based on Green IT, the ecological preservation and water purification will be guaranteed in 4 major rivers including Han River and Paldang.

"We are going to built real-time water pollution monitoring system with various sensors and luminous microbes. We will guarantee the top quality of our water with the best IT infrastructure we have been built on up to this date. We seek the future collaboration and possibly the expansion of matching fund with the Ministry of Environment, 4 Major River Propulsion headquarters, Han River Flood Control Office, and the Ministry of Public Administration and Security to bring a code blue revolution for the nation's four great rivers," Governor Kim said.

Gyeonggi province is leaping through time to provide unique and green tourist attractions mostly by 2012.
