At today's ceremony, contributors to the development of new media were awarded prizes and agreements on the standardization of IPTV service and on the provision of traffic information to the Seoul Metropolitan Government were signed. The event was hosted by the KCC, the Electronic Times, and Dong-a Ilbo and attended by some 300 people, including lawmakers, government officials, and others from the academia, media and IPTV industry.
The Digital Media Fair 2009 also opened on December 10 at COEX in Seoul to discuss the current IPTV trend and explore ways for future development of IPTV. An IPTV conference, a digital media job fair and an exhibition of new products are held there. The 3-day event was hosted by the KCC and co-organized by the Korea Internet & Security Agency, the Electronic Times, and Exporum Inc. A total of 120 platform, content and solution companies are participated.
The KCC plans to hold exhibitions and conferences annually around the anniversary of the launch of the IPTV service to chart the present and future course of digital media, including IPTV.
