Haeundae beach

South Korea is fast becoming a booming business metropolis, with many reputable technology companies like Samsung and LG being popular Korean exports. And with other emerging industries also booming; more and more people will be finding themselves doing business in South Korea. So the next time you have a business trip to Korea, try extending your time there by a weekend; there is so much more than Seoul to explore! With South Korea being a relatively small country, paired with its excellent and easy to use public transport; you can visit many other destinations around the country with ease. Here are four places that you should try visit the next time you are on business in Korea.

Gangwon Land and High 1 Resort

A three hour bus ride from Seoul, Gangwon Land (a casino) and the High 1 Resort (skiing and snowboarding resort) are situated in the picturesque town of Gohan, in the province of Gangwon-do. Especially after the hustle and bustle of Seoul, you will enjoy the scenic and calm that this province has to offer. The ski slopes are found at the High 1 Resort and right next door is the classy Gangwon Land casino. This combines two great activities in the same space. So brush up on your skiing knowledge and technique and start practicing your blackjack and poker online in preparation; you can earn rewards as you play at Royal Vegas, which really makes practicing worth your while!

Beaches in Busan

If you are a seafood fan, you have to visit the coastal and thriving city of Busan! You will find the freshest seafood and the most hospitable citizens! The beaches are a fantastic place to hang out and relax after a long week of meetings and stress. Haeundae beach is a favorite for locals and tourists alike!

Jeju Island

Jeju Island is just a short ferry ride away from Korea. If you want to explore a bit of this island, a good place to start would be hiking mount Hallasang; the Hallasang National Park is a UNESCO world heritage site, and revered for its beauty. Jeju is also known for its black pork and oranges, so be sure to try those along the way. In addition, the popular Korean make-up and skincare brand, Innisfree, sources all of its main ingredients from the island of Jeju; with its products containing volcanic clay being exceptionally popular. So remember to visit their flagship store there, called ‘Innisfree Jeju House’ –you will find amazing products not only for yourself, but that will be good for gifts to take back home for your friends and family.

Jijmjilbang

So this one is not necessarily location bound, but a must to do when you are in Korea. This is a good idea for when you do not have a lot of extra time but still want to relax and get a taste of Korean Culture. A jjimjillbang is a public bath house where you can soak in various warm baths and de-stress in different saunas. You can also get body scrubs and eat traditional Korean snacks, like eggs cooked in the saunas. There are some very nice jjimjjilbangs around and entrance is not very expensive either.
