Robot Taxi at Heathrow Airport
Heathrow Airport goes futuristic with fully automated robot taxis or pods they are part of the personal rapid transit (PRT) that will be launched by spring 2010. Meanwhile other municipalities will be studying the system to see whether or not if it is feasible for parks and universities. Also, New York and Atlanta are looking into this process too.
The pods are battery driven and able to zoom around up to 25 mph or 40 km and able to carry four passengers.
With today's greenhouse emissions this seems like a feasible alternative combining eco-friendly, cost effectiveness and reliability sounds like a winning combo.
