LG said on March 6 that the company received 40,000 pre-orders in the first four days of the LG G6 being available to pre-order in S. Korea. According to LG, the company received, on average, 10,000 pre-orders daily during the weekend.
LG’s latest flagship smartphone, the G6, was unveiled at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 held on Feb. 26 in Barcelona, Spain. Since then the G6’s 5.7-inch QHD+ Full Vision display has received rave reviews for its user convenience and excellent design.
Expectations were running high as the G6 won a total of 31 awards from global technology magazines at MWC 2017 and continued to get the thumbs ups from global IT magazines.
LG has been running tryout zones and booths at retail shops across the country to let customers get their hands on its latest device ahead of its official release, which the company thinks has translated into strong pre-orders.
In particular, applications for the LG G6 Pre-release Tryout Program were open from Feb. 15 to 24 and LG saw applications pouring in. Over 20,000 people applied for the program, thus facing odds of 1000 to one.
