Samsung Appoints Terry Halvorsen as Global Enterprise Advisor

Samsung Electronics announced on April 14 that the appointment of Mr. Terry Halvorsen as an EVP, Global Enterprise Advisor to JK Shin, the President and CEO of IT & Mobile Communications at Samsung Electronics.

With more than 35 years of IT experience in the Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of the Navy, Mr. Halvorsen will leverage his expertise in leading large scale IT, telecoms and security missions around the world to focus on growing Samsung's global B2B mobile business. In his new role, he will advise customers and partners on how to implement effective mobile enterprise strategies within their mobile workforce and help further propel corporate government and regulatory business for Samsung Global Mobile B2B team.

Prior to joining Samsung, Halvorsen spent two years as CIO for the DoD, where he was the principal advisor to the Secretary of Defense for Information Management / Information Technology and Information Assurance as well as non-intelligence space systems. Throughout his distinguished career, he has also held several positions within the Department of the Navy including Chief Information Officer and numerous other roles including Deputy Commander, Navy Cyber Forces, and Naval Network Warfare Command.
