Ewha Womans University Medical Center (Director: Kim Seung-cheol) was awarded the 2017 Best Masterpiece Voted by Women.
At the 19th Best Masterpiece Voted by Women Awards held at Schubert Hall of President Hotel on May 25, Ewha Womans University Medical Center won two Best Awards, with Ewha Womans University Cancer Center for Women and Ewha Womans University Mokdong Hospital’s Organ Transplantation Center winning the prize for best cancer center and best specialized center respectively.
Ewha Womans University Cancer Center for Women has won the best cancer center award for nine years in a row, scoring high marks for ▲ the best medical team of female cancer specialists in Korea, ▲ differentiated medical care system and facilities for female cancer patients, ▲ differentiated female-friendly medical care service only for female cancer patients, and ▲ the continuous introduction of high-tech equipment designed to enhance the accuracy of diagnosis and treatment of female cancer.
In addition, Ewha Womans University Mokdong Hospital’s Organ Transplantation Center achieved a higher success rate of organ transplantation by integrating and unifying the organ transplantation related care, previously divided into several medical departments such as the kidney center and liver center. The Transplantation Center is now composed of: the kidney transplantation team led by Director Jeong Gu-Yong; the liver transplantation team by Professor Hong Geun; and the heart and lung transplantation team by Professor of Thoracic Surgery Won Tae-hui and Kim Gwan-chang.
