On February 25, according to Xin Hua Net, a spokesperson from the general staff of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) stated, “We will take serious military action for dealing with the joint military simulation of U.S. and S. Korea. Also, if America and S. Korea neglect this warning then the DPRK has no option, but to use every offensive and defensive measure involving our nuclear program.”

The spokesperson for DPRK continued to say, “The joint military exercise is schemed to raise military tension in the Korean peninsula.”

The ROK and U.S. army announced on February 17 that they will stage a joint simulation drill in S. Korea from March 8 to March 18.
