3D products have become the hot new thing among the major players such as Samsung, Sony and Sharp is all set to foray into the 3D TV market. Sharp hits a homerun with its LCD touchscreen that shows 3D images without the need for special glasses.
A user is able to see 3D images at a distance of 30 centimetres from the screen without the need of wearing special glasses that are currently required when watching 3D movies. Sharp's 3D screen prevails over the need to use special glasses by utilizing parallax and CG-Silicon technology to display different images to each eye to give the illusion of 3D while retaining image clarity. Sharp wants to sustain and grow in the LCD TV market by providing more vivid 3D experiences.
Thereby, Sharp has developed a 3D touchscreen LCD that is able to switch between 2D and 3D modes while maintaining the industry's highest brightness. "Sharp predicts that next-generation cell phones will all be equipped with 3D screens, but their success would be dependent on the ability to function without the need for special glasses," Sharp's LCD business manager Yoshisuke Hasegawa explained.
